What do I want to achieve with my blog? That’s what I question myself for a long time. What do I want to achieve and what did I achieve already? At first it looks like a simple questions, but it’s not.
The first thing I want to achieve is to get more in touch with my readers. I get in touch with my Dutch readers a lot (although it can be more!), but with my English readers I barely get in touch. I don’t have an English Facebook page and that’s what I want to change. I don’t know how I’m going to do this. Do I need to let my English readers press a button to see the English translation or do I need to make an English Facebook page? I hesitate about this a lot and it will take a while, until I made a choice.
The second thing I want to change is that I want to grow a bit. Growing bigger is really nice, but it’s not a must of course. I’m very happy with my visitors, but I always try to get more. I’m a real perfectionist and I do everything I can to grow. What I notice is when you respond on blogs, then you get way more contact with that blogger. I really want that, but sometimes I’m a bit too lazy to respond on blogs. Often too, because responding on blogs is pretty hard, because you need to sign up somewhere or sometimes I need to rewrite the comment. I think that’s really not-done.
The third thing is that I want to improve my lay-out. I don’t know what I have, but I’m never satisfied with my lay-out. I think he looks good, but I think I can improve something always. I always pay attention for the details and I know it, I can better spend my time to writing blogs instead of spending the time for my lay-out. Still I think it’s pretty important to have a blog where the lay-out looks pretty. Sometimes I see people with blogs who write seriously amazing, but then their lay-out doesn’t look that good. Sometimes I have the tendency to help. Installing a theme can be a big improvement already.
The last thing is that I want people to understand why I blog. I want to become more unique and I don’t want to be just a blog on the web. I don’t know how I need to do this and I really need to figure that out. I’ve always the idea that I review ‘unique’ products, but maybe that’s not the issue. I just need to try to become more unique, but how I don’t know yet. Maybe it’s time to brainstorm about that or maybe it just comes with the time. Needs to work right?
What would you like to achieve with your blog? And when you don’t have a blog, what would you like to achieve with your life?
