It is hard to make Pinterest pins go viral. Still, I made my Pinterest pins go viral a couple of times and I notice that my pins get more and more blog traffic. Making Pinterest pins go viral, doesn’t go easily, but in this article, I will explain how you get more chance on making your Pinterest pins go viral.
Make Pinterest pins go viral with the right measurements
Please use vertical pins. Horizontal pins just don’t work on Pinterest, although these are more easy to make, vertical pins just work better. Mostly, I use the measurement 735 x 1102 pixels.
Canva
Are you asking yourself how you make a pin? Then definitely use Canva. Canva is pretty easy to use and you can make a lot of beautiful pins with this program.
Catchy words
Definitely, use catchy words. For example, if you make a pin about a review of a Colourpop palette, then don’t write on your pin “Colourpop palette review”, but for example “The best palette on the internet”. You just need to think: “How can I make a text, where I would click on?”
Bold
Definitely, use bold fonts. These stand out more than a normal font.

The color
One year ago, I was using a lot of pastel colors. This was a bad plan because those colors don’t stand out at all. Bright colors are the best for your pin. It is proven that the combination of red and black works pretty well. I always highlight the words which are most catchy and I make the rest black.
Length of the text
Don’t type a whole story on your pins, because that just doesn’t make sense. Everyone scrolls through Pinterest and your pin really need to stand out. It doesn’t make sense to type a whole story on your pins, because then people would just skip your pin.
Background
Make sure that your pin has the same background as the picture you use for your pin. For my blog pins I use pictures and the background of my pin really needs to be the same color as the picture. I mostly use a white background, so the background doesn’t distract the reader from clicking through. The pin needs to stand out, but too many colors are not good.
