My make-up stash is growing a lot. I have a couple of drawers, but I don’t think this is really accessible when I put everything in my drawers. Today I am going to make a really nice storage box of a simple carton box.

Because of my Colourpop orders I have received some really nice boxes. These orders are from America, so every time I order something, I get a nice box. Still, I don’t say you need to order from Colourpop, to make this kind of box. When you are a bit creative or when you can draw good, then you can make your own design! Think about coloring, but you can also use washi-tape or paint.

Step 1

In my case, you kind of destroy the box. I do this, because the pretty side is on the inside, so I need to turn the box. When you want to design your own box, then I recommend to use the side without any characters.

Step 2

Next you make the box again. You do this by bending the box and put these back on the same way. If these don’t stay put, then you can use a bit of tape or glue.

Step 3

Next you cut the top of the box. You need a pretty good scissor for this, because the top is pretty hard to cut. Also the sides can get pretty ugly, when you have a bad scissor.

Step 4

It is actually really easy. You cut the top of the box in a couple of pieces, as you can see on the pictures. Next you use the biggest part as the bottom. You can use the right long part as the back. This is the only ‘not-edited part’ of the box which you can see. In my case the long white side!

Step 5

I think it is really nice to use the last pieces as ears. You put this on the back with a bit of tape. You can leave this of course, but I think this is a pretty nice detail. Next you use the other two pieces as dividers. I used the two dividers as two dividers with the front and left box. With the right box I have used the two dividers as one. If it doesn’t stay put, you can always choose to tape it on the sides.
